At 1.00 p.m. on the first day of the millennium citizens of the U.K. from the youngest to the oldest, from Lands End to John O'Groats (and it is hoped that the Commonwealth countries will join in), will be able to drink a special toast to the Queen to wish her good health, and it will be her subjects way of saying thanks to her for being a superb Monarch.

This unique event is the idea of Ivor Spencer, the Founder and Life President of The Guild of International Professional Toastmasters, who has officiated at over 1,000 Royal events. The fellows of the Guild will be assisting him in organising this.

The citizens will, of course, choose their own drink for the toasts, from a glass of milk to a glass of wine, from a cup of tea to Champagne.

This event is being organised in an honorary capacity by the Guild.

Buckingham Palace are aware that this event is taking place.
